PLOCAN showed its test bed in the XII edition of Canagua&energía, International Water and Energy Fair of the Canary Islands, promoted by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria through the Island Energy Council and the Island Water Council, and organised by INFECAR. This focuses on isolated or independent environments, characterised mainly by the fact that they are not connected to the major, international power distribution grids.
The presence of PLOCAN consisted of setting up a stand focusing on its test bed and Blue Energy projects that are implemented on it, including a boat trip for professional visitors to Canagua&energía to the marine test bed.
The visitors got the chance to see the off-shore platform and the wind generator from the ELISA Project, one of the latest devices installed on the test bed, and they were given ample information on the characteristics of the marine infrastructure and the ELISA project wind generator.
The purpose of Canagua&energía is to turn the Canary Islands into a reference point in clean energy internationally, by providing new business opportunities, new forms of generation, efficiency, desalination, the re-use of water, investment, promotion and collaboration within the water-energy paradigm. This is an objective that is shared by PLOCAN, in the form of testing marine renewable energy devices on its test bed.
