The President of the Canary Islands Government at the Science and Innovation Mini-Fairs, held at PLOCAN

The President of the Canary Islands Government, Ángel Víctor Torres, visited the PLOCAN headquarters in Taliarte on the occasion of the Science and Innovation Mini-Fairs.

Together with the Regional Minister of Economy, Knowledge and Employment, Elena Máñez, the Director of the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI), Carlos Navarro, and the Director of PLOCAN, José Joaquín Hernández, the president made time during his visit to the Platform’s head offices for a chat with students from IES Josefina de la Torre, IES Cruce de Arinaga and CEIP Montiano Placeres in Telde, who are taking part in the Science and Innovation Mini-Fairs organised at this Unique Scientific and Technological Infrastructure.

The Science and Innovation Mini-Fairs are an outreach event for the whole of the Canary Islands organised by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Canary Islands Government, through ACIISI, to bring science and innovation closer to students.

With this event, the Government of the Canary Islands seeks to foster the participation of stakeholders from the island region’s R&D ecosystem.

The Science and Innovation Mini-Fairs have become a great learning space for the advancement of science in the Canary Islands, showcasing the latest research and development.
