Its objective is to position the MAC Space as a reference in the elaboration and development of transregional Smart Specialization Strategies and to support other regions, in particular the European Outermost Regions (ORs) in the development of joint RIS3 strategies.

Initially, a face to face meeting was scheduled, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic finally a virtual meeting was celebrated.

Smart Speciality Strategies (RIS3) are a requirement of the European Commission to EU countries and regions in order to access to European funds and an opportunity to define the development strategies for R&D&I systems in each region. The RIS3_Net2 Project is a continuation of the RIS3_Net Project, which was funded by the first call of the same programme and which developed the transregional strategy of the MAC Space.

PLOCAN will coordinate the implementation of joint demonstrative actions in areas of expertise which are common to the three regions that participate in the project, such as the circular economy and biodiversity, health and well-being, and information and communication technologies.

The RIS3_Net2 projected is 85% co-funded with ERD funds from the second call for projects of the Interreg MAC 2014-2020 programme. This project is coordinated by the Canarian Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI) which belongs to the Government of the Canary Islands.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
