PLOCAN installs high-tech marine observation cameras in the Northeast of Gran Canaria

The companies QUALITAS and QAISC (start-up of artificial intelligence solutions for the blue economy) have presented to members of the scientific-technical team of PLOCAN a high-performance camera system from Hikvision recently acquired by the consortium and already in operation in various locations on the Northeast coast of Gran Canaria. The new equipment, mainly intended for surveillance and monitoring of the test site area and surrounding areas, including Melenara Bay and the ports of Las Palmas and Taliarte, joins the set of marine observation systems, tools and capabilities of PLOCAN. This network of cameras is essential to increase and improve the services that the ICTS offers to various users of the marine-maritime sector who carry out certain activities both routinely and occasionally in the aforementioned locations. Furthermore, it will alllow the start of a line of products and solutions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), developed in the Canary Islands within the R&D ecosystem formed by QAISC, CTIM / ULPGC together with PLOCAN.
