PLOCAN joins the 7th Conference on Hydrographic Engineering

PLOCAN has joined the 7th Conference on Hydrographic Engineering, held in Lisbon with contributions to the sessions on Operational Oceanography and Ocean Observing Technologies, to present activities and results derived from long-range glider missions in the Macaronesian region, as well as the most relevant advances achieved in the context of the European project EuroSea on autonomous ocean vehicles.

The Hydrographic Institute of Portugal headquarters hosted the biannual event, joined by more than 400 attendees distributed in parallel sessions of oral presentations and posters on the latest technological advances and scientific-technical studies related to disciplines such as marine geology, physical oceanography, hydrography, hydrographic engineering, ocean observing systems and platforms, etc.

The conference was attended and participated by leading companies in the sector, which showed technological innovations in regards to hydrographic and oceanographic control and measurement systems and devices, matching as usual with World Hydrography Day.

The EuroSea project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program under grant agreement No. 862626
