The director of Plocan, José Joaquín Hernández Brito, participated in the Commission on the situation of the European Union 2021-2027 of the Parliament of the Canary Islands.

He continued his speech asking the Parliament to support the expressions of interest presented to the State to promote offshore green hydrogen production and offshore wind power in the Canary Islands.
In this sense, he highlighted the expression of interest led by the Spanish Wind Energy Association for a value of 699 million euros for the industrialization of offshore wind power through the promotion of experimental platforms and the adaptation of naval and port infrastructures.
The director of Plocan asked the parliamentarians for their support for the expansion of the experimental test areas in the Canary Islands, as well as their suitable regulation, including the creation of a regulatory sandbox that can accelerate the commercial development of the sector in safe conditions.
