Estoc mission

The 34-day of continued mission and the 430 nautical miles covered by the underwater vehicle (glider) P201 in the Northeastern waters of Gran Canaria island, between the deep node (ESTOC Ocean Observatory) and the coastal one (Test-site) that integrates the usual observation/operations area by the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) Consortium, have enabled to autonomously perform 378 profiles at depths of 1000 meters, which has led to gather around 1.250.000 data by each of the five monitored parameters (temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll and turbidity).

Seminario Boyas Cabo Verde

Between the 11th and the 13th of May, technicians from the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), travelled to San Vicente island, Cabo Verde archipielago, to carry out several actions in collaboration with INDP (Instituto Nacional de Desenvolvimento das Pescas) under the framework of the Estramar project (Estratégia Marino-Marítima de I+D+i en la Macaronesia), funded by the MAC program 2007-2013 transnational cooperation Madeira-Azores-Canary Islands-Cape Verde.
