Taller Civitas

The Oceanic Platform of the Canay Islands organised an Underwater Robotics Workshop at CIVITAS Association, which was founded in March 1969, thanks to the initiative of a group of parents with children with intellectual disabilities, who tried to respond to the special educational and occupational needs of their children. Nowadays, the Association includes a Special Education Centre, an Occupational Centre and a Third-Party Support Centre, which offer their services to 250 members.

Premio Servicio Canario de Empleo

The Canary Islands Employment Service awarded PLOCAN for its best practices on the management of the projects ESTRAMAR and MacSIMAR, which are both funded by the Operational Programme PCT-MAC 2007-2013, during the workshop “Employment and training initiatives in the fields of blue and green economy identified in the EU Outermost Regions (ORs)” celebrated in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and organised by the Grow RUP Project.

La Palma Research Centre

Partners of the CHPM2030 Project, “Combined Heat, Power and Metal Extraction”, visited PLOCAN during the roadmapping workshop hosted by La Palma Research Centre. The experts were informed in detail about the facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands: the Multi-purpose Offshore Platform, the Test Site and the Observatory. Furthermore, they were able to discover the specific characteristics and the operating modes of the ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and the gliders.

25 años Observatorio ESTOC

The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands collected and deployed an oceanographic buoy in its oceanic observatory located in the North of the Canary Islands (ESTOC position) between the 22nd and the 26th of February 2019. The operation was realiased from the ship Ángeles Alvariño from IEO. The buoy is currently operating. (Data access)
