12-07-2011. Underwater vehicles learning during the 2011 Summer School.
As a second strainght year running, PLOCAN into its educational-trainning framework programme, has scholarship two students (Ruben Marrero and Alberto Gonzalez) to perform this summer a two-month stay at Rutgers University.
Stay's goal includes training on handling both hardware and software tools of glider type underwater vehicles as well as play the information generated by them.
In this specific case, the stay matches with a real glider mission under the name of "Challenger Mission", where both institutions cooperate directly with the main aim of covering the distance between Iceland and Gran Canaria driving one of these unmanned autonomous vehicles.
Both students, as the pictures show, have started to implement the specific workplan designed by the advisor assigned, which is expected to last until early September.
